Violence in the Motherland

As a response to the growing immigrant population in South Africa many took to the streets in protest and violence to express their dismay toward the Zimbabwean citizens seeking refuge from their collapsing economy in the country. 

Jacob Zuma, president of the African National congress, the governing party of South Africa commented, “We should be the last people to have this problem of having a negative attitude towards our brothers and sisters who come from outside" Zuma,  of course is referring to the many South Africans who fled to other countries during Apartheid.
